We recommend the SWP Easy-Wire system for wiring a Dolls House 1/12^th or 1/24^th

Please read all this information before you start

1. The benefits of using SWP Easy-Wire system to wire your Dolls House

• You can take your lights out of your house at any time to replace the bulb or just change your light
• By using the SWP Easy-Wire system it lets you wire your doll’s house a little at a time if you so wish
• You don’t have to think about putting any lights into your house until you have finished decorating you just have to know where lights are going to go
• Once you have wired your house, you will never see the wiring again, but you can always update the way you control your lights
• Each run of wire for the lights or fires are separate from each other if you have a fault it should only be on that run making it easy for you to find the fault
• You can all so use some of our wiring products if you have already wired your house even if you have use white plugs

2. Where do you start?

1. A Doll’s House kit is a better way to start its easier to wire before you put it together, you can still use our SWP Easy-Wire system if your house is already built it’s just a little harder

2. You need to work out which rooms are going to be use for what purpose, you can then work out what lights you need in each room and also how many, this is so you know what lights you will need later and where

3. Think where you are going to have the place on the house where you are going to connect all the wires to the mains i.e. Back – Side of the house or in a shed in the garden or somewhere else

4. We offer two methods Copper Tape method (some soldering to do)  and Round Wire

3. You are now ready to start thinking about wiring your Doll’s House

What you need all can be found on our Website

• Reel self-adhesive twin copper tape
• Hollow rivet contact large for walls
• Drill bit to make a hole to take the Hollow rivet
• Grip contacts Ceilings 
• Drill bit to make a hole to take the Grip contacts
• Wiring Cable Twin Grey

The only thing is that we talk about White wire in our YouTube presentation we have had to replace it with the Grey Wire

• Soldering iron and Solder

You have to get these from a shop near you

• Battery the little square shape 9 Vol PP9

4.        What you need all can be found on our Website

• Grip contacts Ceilings 
• Drill bit to make a hole to take the Grip contacts
• Wiring Cable Twin Grey

The only thing is that we talk about White wire in our YouTube presentation we have had to replace it with the Grey Wire

You should have now finished wiring your house and have check that the power is going to all of the points you have wired in

Don’t forget if you have used Cooper tape you need to paint over it with gloss paint NOT Kitchen or Bathroom paint

4. Now you can start decorating

• Putting Power into your Dolls House
• Now you have your wiring in your Dolls House you need to be able to contact the wires to the power

We have already spoken about these in our presentation that you have look at but to remind you

We don’t use white plugs

We have a selection of Power Controllers that we make at Small World Products

We also do a 8 Channel Multi - Function Remote Control Unit

You now need to select the right size power pack (you might call them Transformers)

You should have now finished decorating and got your power going into your house and now ready to put your lights in your Dolls House

    6.Choosing your lights

Choosing your lights to go into your house we have a very good selection to choose from just click on this logo 

    7. Putting your lights into your house using Backplates

You will now have to add the back plates to your lights so you can plug them in you

Stick the back plate to the back of the light

We only use UHU the all-purpose adhesive

Certain commercial adhesives (particularly Contact Adhesives) DO NOT USE AN ADHESIVE WITH A STONG SMELLING SOLVET IT COULD ROT THE WIRES) dissolve the wire insulation, If you are not using UHU preferably test your chosen adhesive on a spare piece of wire, or only apply glue to the periphery of the back plate, keeping it well away from the wires. (You might need to cover the pins on the light side with Tipp-Ex if you think the pins will come into any metal on the light) Strip about 15-18 mm of one of the wires wrap this around one of the pins 3 - 4 times take the other wire with

It might be a good idea if you have a little practise before putting the backplate on to the light

We do offer the service at a small charge if you buy the lights from us we can put the backplates on for you 

You now be finished and the lights should be in and working
