B998 - SOLDThis superb antique French soap dish would make a very stylish and authentic addition to a château chic salle de bain.
It is made of brass and is in the shape of a dolphin and a shell. The dolphin forms the backplate or handle and the shell will take the soap. It is very versatile as it can either be hung on a wall or be freestanding. There are two holes in the dolphin's tail to fix it to a wall and a heavy circular base on the underside of the shell to keep it steady while freestanding.
It is a weighty piece and is of excellent quality.
The brass has taken on a lovely antique patina but it would polish to a shiny finish if required.
It measures :- 16 cm (6.25 inches) deep x 11.5 cm (4.5 inches) wide x 11 cm (4.25 inches) high.
