This is a fantastic vintage French copper kitchen rack and utensils set. It is not only wondefully decorative but it is of superb quality and would be perfectly at home in a professional cuisine.

The rack has a handsome cockerel design stamped into the back. It has a brass rail upon which the utensils hang and a tray at the base to catch the drips.

There are 4 utensils and a pouring saucepan all in excellent condition. The utensils are :- a ladle, a casserole spoon, a fish slice and a meat fork. The handles are made of brass and the working areas and the rivets are made of copper. They are of good weight and are lovely to handle.

The saucepan could be a later addition to the set. It has a tinned interior. The handle is also brass but the rivets are stainless steel. It is stamped with the maker's name 'Villedieu'.

The rack has one or two minor dents.We have polished it to a shiny finish. A little patina remains and it would polish further if required.

There are two holes on the rack for hanging on a wall.

Rack - 50 cm (19.75 inches) high x 37 cm (14.5 inches) wide x 9.5 cm (3.75 inches) deep.

Ladle - 36 cm (14 inches) long x 10 cm (4 inches) wide.

Fork - 48.5 cm (15.25 inches) long x 4 cm (1.5 inches) wide.

Spoon - 37.5 cm (14.75 inches) long x 6.5 cm (2.5 inches) wide.

Slice - 39 cm (15.25 inches) long x 8 cm (3 inches) wide.

Saucepan - 35 cm (13.75 inches) long x 9 cm (3.5 inches) wide.

This is a fabulous set of utensils for serious use or to hang as a decorative piece in a vintage cuisine and another superb French brocante find from La Belle Étoffe.
