This is a superb antique French kitchen towel rack / accroche torchon dating from about 1920 / 30.

It is in the Art Deco style and has a stunning red and white check design.

Across the middle of the rack are the words - 'VAISSELLE' (dishes), 'VERRES' (glasses), 'COUTEAUX' (knives), and ' MAINS' (hands). Beneath each of these is the hook for the corresponding towel.

The rack has 2 slots for attaching it to a wall or cupboard.

The enamel has distressed from years of use and there are one or two dents but this just adds character to this lovely old piece.

It measures :-  W 34.5 cm (13.5 inches) X H 9.5 cm (3.75 inches).
