B987 - SOLD

This is a gorgeous pair of antique French marble and spelter bookends dating from the 1930's. They would certainly add a château chic finishing touch to an office or library.

Each bookend has two charming little birds sitting on a branch. The higher one is singing while the other looks on adoringly. They are made of spelter and have a stunning coppery / bronze finish. There is even a little verdigris to add to this gorgeous finish.

The little birds and their branch sit on a marble base. The marble has a lovely warm taupy hue with burgundy veining.

The bookends are understandably weighty pieces and would be up to supporting some fairly hefty tomes. They are in good sturdy condition with some very minor nibbling to the edges of the marble.

Each bookend measures :- approx. 11.5 cm (4.5 inches) high x 7 cm (2.75 inches) wide x 13 cm (5 inches) deep.

A gorgeous pair of little bird bookends to use and enjoy and another divine antique French find from La Belle Étoffe!
