B972 - Superb Antique French Ormolu Easel Picture / Photo Frame, Acanthus Leaf Crest

This is a superb antique French easel picture frame dating from the late 1800's, early 1900's. It holds a charming photo of a military gentleman and his bride. This photo could be changed if required.

The frame would make the perfect château chic finishing touch, perhaps grouped with others on a side table.

The frame has a gorgeous ormolu acanthus leaf crest. It stands on two ball feet. On the back is the easel spring mechanism which works smoothly. The back stand is good and strong.

The gilding on the ormolu has mellowed over the years to timeworn perfection.

The glass display panel has a bevelled edge. It is original to the frame and is in good condition with one or two very minor nibbles to the glass.

The frame measures 20 cm (8 inches) high x 11 cm (4.3 inches) wide.
