This is a stunning antique French cast iron garden planter / jardinière in the Rococo style and dating from the 19th Century.

It would be perfect to take a few geraniums and would sit beautifully on a window ledge inside or outside or perhaps on a hall console table.

It is made of cast iron and is a very substantial piece (4.35 kg). It is decorated on both sides with a divine swirling acanthus leaf design with a flower and leaf crest. It sits on 4 very sturdy feet. There are 3 drainage holes in the bottom.

The cast iron has acquired a fabulous patination over the years but despite it's timeworn appearance the metal is in good antique condition.

The jardinière measures :- H 15.5 cm (6 inches) x W 32.5 cm (12.5 inches) x D 16.5 cm (6.5 inches).
