B899 - SOLD

This is a sublime antique French plaster bust dating from the early 1900's. It is a very atmospheric piece.

The subject is a very pretty young village girl. She has beautiful eyes, and cupid's bow lips. She wears a simple dark scarf over her hair and wears a dress in a gorgeous dark green.

She is beautifully painted in wonderful colour and detail. She has a gentle rosy glow to her cheeks and her lips and eyes have an almost doll like quality.

The plaster plinth has a metal plaque at the front with the title 'Au Village' and the back is engraved with 'FRANCE' and has the makers stamp.

The bust is in good antique condition with just a little  distressing from the passage of time.

She measures 32 cm (12.5 inches) high x 25 cm (9.75 inches) wide x 16 cm (6.25 inches) deep.

This is a gorgeous bust to add an authentic antique French finishing touch and another divine brocante find from La Belle Étoffe!
