This is a magnificent pair of  huge antique French ormolu curtain pole holders dating from the 1800's. They would certainly add a truly stunning château chic finishing touch to a curtain pole.

The fascia of each holder has a central floral medallion with a laurel leaf border and a gorgeous ribbon and bow crest.

The holders have their original spikes to hold them in to the masonry of the wall and there is a hole at the bottom of  each to take a screw. Behind the fascia is a bracket upon which the pole would sit.

The pole holders are very large and sturdy and would take a substantial pole.

The gilding on the ormolu has mellowed over the years to a lovely old gold hue.

Each pole holder measures :- H 42 cm (16.5 inches) x W 10.5 cm (4.25 inches) x D 20 cm (8 inches). The depth is the actual distance that the holder would project from the wall and therefore does not include the spike.
