B834 - SOLD

This is an impressive pair of  antique French ormolu curtain pole holders dating from the 1800's. They would certainly add a stunning château chic finishing touch to a curtain pole.

On the fascia of each holder is a magnificent lion's head complete with flowing mane and this would project above the pole. The pole holder then sweeps downwards and ends with a Fleur De Lys flourish which would fit against the wall.

The gilding on the ormolu has mellowed to a lovely old gold hue.

The pole holders are very sturdy and will take a substantial pole to hold large château curtains.

Behind the fascia of the pole holder is the actual bracket to take the pole. Over the passage of time one of these has become oval in shape while still remaining sturdy and capable of taking a pole 4 cm in diameter. The pole holders have been photographed with a 3.5 cm diameter pole.

The pole holders have 2 screw holes in the back for fixing to the wall and a screw hole in the top of the bracket to secure the pole.

Each pole holder measures :- H 33.5 cm (13.25 inches) x W 7.25 cm (2.75 inches) x D 11 cm (4.3 inches).

A magnificent pair of curtain pole holders to add a château chic statement and another divine antique French find from La Belle Étoffe!

N.B. We also have a fabulous pair of lion's head curtain tie backs (see our other items) which together with these pole holders would make an amazing ensemble.
