This is a superb pair of antique French ormolu curtain tie / hold backs in the Rococo style and dating from about 1880.

They are of a size and gauge to accommodate a substantial pair of weighty château curtains.

They are hinged so they hang freely from the wall and allow drapes to be secured back in a natural and elegant manner.

The front of the hook has a classic acanthus leaf design and the back plate is simple but stylish.

The gilding to the ormolu has mellowed over the years to a lovely antique hue.

The tie backs have a strap on the back of the top plate and can be fixed to the wall by hanging them on a hook.

Dimensions :- H 33 cm (13 inches) x W 5 cm (2 inches) x D 15.5 cm (6.1 inches).

This is a fabulous pair of curtain tie backs to add a château chic finishing touch and another divine antique French find from La Belle Ètoffe.
