This is a pretty pair of antique French ormolu curtain tie / hold backs in the Rococo style and dating from about 1880.

They are of a petite size and would be perfect for holding back and draping a pair of  lace or voile curtains .

They are of good quality with excellent detail and definition to the casting of the metal.

The back plate has a decorative acanthus leaf design which continues in to the fascia of the hook.

The gilding on the tie backs has mellowed over the years to lovely old gold hue.

The tie backs have a strap on the reverse of the back plate for hanging on a hook..

They measure :- H 12.5 cm (5 inches) x W 2.25 cm (0.75 inches) x D 8 cm (3.1 inches).
