This is an adorable antique French crucifix / charm with a winged cherubic angel. It is made from celluloid and dates from about 1880.

It would probably have been given as a gift to a newborn baby and would have been placed in the crib or bassinet to protect it.

The cross, with it's angel's head hangs from a circular frame. The angel has beautiful curly hair. His wings are full and feathery and frame his lovely face.

The charm is in good condition with no chips or cracks. It is small enough to hang on a chain or ribbon and wear as a pendant and large enough to hang on a wall as part of a period display.

It measures :- H 7.5 cm (3 inches) to the top of the loop x W 6.5 cm (2.5 inches).
