B414 - SOLD

This is an adorable antique French child's lunchbox dating from the 1930's.

It is made from tin and has a cute carrying handle.

The sides of the box are in a gorgeous shade of turquoise and have a faux basket effect.

The lid of the box has the most charming cartoon scene. A gnome sleeps outside his beautiful toadstool house. He is surrounded by a myriad of animals including a rabbit, a tortoise, a frog, a beetle, a bird, a butterfly and a snail. They are all depicted in fabulous detail and the colours are gorgeous. In the bottom left hand corner is the artist's name'Bozz'.

The lid of the box lifts smoothly.

We have left the box as we found it. It has patinated over the years and would clean further if required.

It measures 19 cm (7.5 inches) long x 9 cm (3.5 inches) deep x 7 cm (2.75 inches) high with the handle down.

This is a gorgeous box to keep and treasure as part of a collection or to use and enjoy.

It can be seen in our shop in Frome, Somerset.
