This is a panel of exquisite antique French embroidered silk brocade dating from about 1900. This is fabric of the highest quality and would be strong enough to use for upholstery. It has good weight, drapes beautifully and is very tactile.

It has narrow and broad bands of silk embroidery on an ecru background alternating with uniform solid bands of a fabulous rich old gold colour. The narrow embroidered panels have central sprigs of pink flowers with tiny rosebud borders.

The broader panels have adorable baskets and sprigs of pink flowers encased in flower garlands held together with divine pink bows.The borders are of a yellow and green design and all the foliage is of a soft moss green hue.

These embroidered panels alone would make exquisite ribbon for trimming cushions etc.

The fabric is in excellent antique condition. It has the benefit of age without marks or fading.

The panel measures:- 143 cm (4 feet 8 inches) long x 115 cm (3 foot 9 inches) wide.

This is an exquisite piece of period French textile of exceptional quality and beauty to add a touch of grandeur to a chair or cushion.
