This is an amazing antique French repoussé brass and stained glass lantern lampshade.  It is very decorative and is made in incredible detail. It would possibly originally have hung on a chain and been fitted for electricity using a 2 core wire (the hole at the top is quite small).  It would now look superb placed over a candle.

The shape of the lantern is formed by intricately worked repousse brass holding panes of pressed glass in blue, green, amber, magenta and clear - each colour having it's own pattern.

The top of the lantern has a brass loop for hanging.

The lantern is in sturdy antique condition. The glass is all intact. The repoussé brass has had some knocks over the years (please see photos) but this does not detract from the beauty of this lovely old piece.

The lantern measures :- 26 cm (10.25 inches) high (not including the hanging loop) x approx 14 cm (5.5 inches) wide & deep.

We have photographed the lantern placed over a candle and also with a string of LED lights inside.
