B1814 - SOLD

This is a stunning rare antique French glass casket in the Louis XV style but dating from the 1800's.  It would be perfect for displaying special trinkets perhaps in a glazed armoire or in a shop window and would certainly add a château chic touch to a boudoir.

The casket is in the shape of a vitrine and has a gorgeous acanthus leaf flourish crest. It stands on 4 sturdy curled acanthus leaf feet. It has three windows all with decorative surrounds.  Below the front window are 3 faux drawers.

Looking through the glass we see that the back is mirrored and that there are two shelves covered in lime green baize.

At the back of the casket is a door which opens by turning a little catch.

The casket is cast in spelter and has a lovely old gold hue. It is a substantial piece and is in excellent antique condition.

The casket measures :-  21 cm (8.25 inches) high to the top of the crest x 10.5 cm (4.1 inches) wide between the back feet x 7 cm (2.75 inches) deep at the feet.
