B1755 - SOLD

This gorgeous section of antique French carved wood roses and leaves dates from the 1800's and possibly originally formed part of a frieze.  It is very architectural and would now look superb on a wall, perhaps over a door or a painting and would be perfect as a central point from which to hang drapes, perhaps over a bed as a ciel de lit. We also have a similar one of these, B1756, listed in our other items.

It is beautifully carved with roses and leaves and is very three dimensional. The gilding has mellowed over the years to a wonderful subtle hue.

It has had a little worm over the years, there is one old repair and there are one or two chips to the wood  but it is absolutely GORGEOUS just as it is.

It measures:- 51 cm (20 inches) wide x 12 cm (4.75 inches) high.
