B1353 - SOLD

This is the most beautiful antique French embroidered lace curtain dating from the early 1900's. We have another similar curtain listed in our other items (B1352). Each curtain is fantastic on it's own or they could both be incorporated into an interiors project.

The textile is an open weave soft tulle in a sublime shade of light coffee. In the centre of the curtain is a fantastic flower vignette with open embroidered lacework. The flowers burgeon in amazing splendour from a vase.

The two side edges of the curtain have very delicate lace passementerie. The reverse of the top of the curtain is sewn with a tape to take hooks or to be sewn with antique curtain rings. At the top of the curtain there is a 'pelmet' of further open embroidered lacework  with  tassels which have frothed to perfection over the years. The detail on the curtain is amazing!

The curtain is in good antique condition. We can see just a few tiny dark specks on the left hand side of the left curtain (please see photos).

The curtain measures :- 138 cm (4 ft 6.25 inches) wide x 283 cm (9 ft 3.25 inches) long.

A divine embroidered lace curtain to add an authentic château chic finishing touch and another gorgeous antique French textile find from La Belle Étoffe.

Please note that the clips & tie back we have used to display the curtain are not included.
