B1351 - SOLD

This is a heavenly pair of very long and wide antique French lace château curtains dating from the early 1900's. They are very detailed and would add the perfect frothy finishing touch to a feature window.

They are made in a fine spotted voile and lace in a lovely soft antique white. The lace of the leading edges and the bottom of the curtains is scalloped and has an amazing three dimensional frill design. Within this are 2 further bands of lace and a rectangular border within which is the spotted voile. The outer edges of the curtains have a scalloped edge and a flower design to match the inner lace band - just fabulous!

We have hung the curtains from clips (not included). There is a ribbon at the top of each curtain to which are sewn tags for tying to a pole. These could be utilised or the curtains could be sewn with antique curtain rings.

The curtains look lovely just hanging ready to flutter in the breeze or as we have photographed them, gently draped back with curtain hold backs (not included) to accentuate their frothy frills.

The curtains are in excellent antique condition. They are clean and fresh. There are two minor holes at the top of the right hand curtain as one looks at it and two at the top of the left hand curtain (please see photos). The largest of these holes is 3 cm (1.25 inches) long , they would be very easy to darn.

Each curtain measures :- 260 cm (8 ft 6.5 inches) long x 130 cm (4ft 3.25 inches) wide.

A divine pair of antique French lace curtains to add a très jolie touch to a window and another fabulous antique French textile find from La Belle Étoffe.
