This is a divine pair of antique French gilded metal curtain tie / hold backs dating from the 1800's. They would certainly add an authentic château chic finishing touch to a curtain ensemble.

Although compact they are substantial pieces of good quality and weight with excellent detail and definition to the casting of the metal.

The fascia of the hook has an acanthus leaf design with a sweet shell beneath.

The gilding on the metal has subtly mellowed and patinated over the years whilst still retaining buttery highlights which catch the light beautifully .

The tie backs have a strap on the reverse of the back plate and can be fixed by hanging them on a hook. There is also a hole to take a screw.

They measure approx :- H 11 cm (4.25 inches) x W 4.5 cm (1.75 inches) x D 11.5 cm (4.5 inches).
