This is an gorgeous pair of antique French ormolu curtain tie / hold backs dating from the 1800's. They would certainly add an authentic château chic finishing touch to a curtain ensemble.

They are substantial pieces of good quality and weight with excellent detail and definition to the casting of the metal.

The fascia of the hook has a magnificent acanthus leaf design.

The gilding on the metal has subtly mellowed over the years whilst still retaining buttery highlights which catch the light beautifully .

The tie backs have a strap on the reverse of the back plate and can be fixed by hanging them on a hook. There is also a hole to take a screw.

They measure approx :- H 18 cm (7 inches) x W 5.75 cm (2.25 inches) x D 12.5 cm (5 inches).
