This is a stunning and unusual woven vintage French tapestry wall hanging the subject of which is a religious statue of the Madonna and Child. It projects a very three dimensional image and would certainly illuminate a special niche.

The tapestry is finely woven in cotton in atmospheric sepia hues and captures perfectly the architectural qualities of it's subject. A border with an ecclesiastical design sets off the image of the statue to perfection.

The wall hanging is lined and has a pocket at the top to take a pole. It is in excellent vintage condition.

It measures :-  81 cm (2 ft 8 inches) high x 47 cm (1 ft 6.5 inches) wide.
