This pretty antique French ribbon bow embellishment would have been used to cover a picture hook. It is made from gilded brass and dates from the 19th C . It is so decorative it could now be incorporated in a number of projects to add a château chic finishing touch to a room.

The bow is formed by a 'ribbon' with three pert loops and two flowing tails. The bow is a substantial little piece and is very three dimensional. The gilding on the brass has a lovely buttery hue now faded a little with the passage of time.

On the back of the bow is a little square tube which would fit over a hook or could be adapted for fixing purposes. We have used a hook and a picture to show how the embellishment can be used.

The bow measures :- 11.5 cm (4.5 inches) high x 7.5 cm (3 inches) wide.
