This is an impressive set of 4 antique French gilded metal curtain pole holders dating from the 1800's. They would certainly add a stunning château chic finishing touch to two curtain poles, perhaps in a double aspect salon.

They are in the Empire style and are very decorative.The fascia has a scrolled crest with a laurel leaf swag and this will project above the pole. The pole holder then sweeps downwards and ends with a scrolled acanthus leaf flourish which will fit against the wall. The gilding has a lovely antique finish.

Behind the fascia of the pole holder is the actual bracket to take the pole. It has a square hole in the back for fixing to the wall. There is a cup with a 4.5 cm (1.75 inches) diameter to take the pole. Within the cup is a fixture for holding the pole in place.

The pole holders are very sturdy and will take a substantial pole to hold large château curtains.

Each pole holder measures :- H 30 cm (11.75 inches) x W 7 cm (2.75 inches) x D 16.5 cm (6.5 inches).
