B1113 - Gorgeous Antique French Hand Worked Needlepoint / Tapestry Framed Handbag, PurseThis is a gorgeous antique French hand worked needlepoint / tapestry handbag. It is a rare find as it is not only in excellent condition and robust, it is of a useful size. It would easily take a mobile 'phone, a purse, a hairbrush, some make up and a notebook.
The bag is completely worked in wool needlepoint and has a black background. To both the back and front is a beautiful roses and flower design in sublime shades of red, pink, blue, lilac, yellow and green which contrast perfectly with the black background.
The seams of the handbag are piped with leather. It has a gorgeous decorative metal frame with a beautiful clasp and chain handle.
The interior of the bag has a black grosgrain lining with a large mirror pocket.
The bag is in good antique condition throughout.
The frame of the bag is 24 cms (9.5 inches) wide at the top.
The actual bag is 32 cms (12.5 inches) wide and 24.5 cms (9.75 inches) high when flat. This beautiful bag is from a carefully selected collection of gorgeous antique French decorative pieces & accessories at 'La Belle Étoffe'.
