This is a stunning tall pair of antique French church pricket candlesticks dating from the 19th Century. They would have stood on the church altar and would now make a very stylish addition to a château chic interior.

Each candlestick stands on a decorative triangular base with winged lion's feet. Each of the sides of the base is intricately decorated with a religious image. One side has Mary and the infant Jesus, one side has the Sacred Heart and the other has the Triangle of the Holy Trinity.

The column of each candlestick is of the classic Empire style and the bobeche are simple with clean lines.

The candlesticks are sturdy and are made of gilded brass. The gilding has mellowed and patinated over the years to wonderful effect.

Whether placed on a simple country buffet or a grand enfilade these gorgeous candlesticks will look stunning.

Each candlestick measures :- H 72 cm (28.25 inches) to the top of the spike x 19 cm (7.5 inches) along one side of the base.
