B1071 - SOLD

This is a divine antique French Cornely lace curtain dating from the 1800's. It is exquisitely pretty and would certainly add a château chic finishing touch to a boudoir.

The textile is a very fine cotton muslin and is absolutely covered in a beautiful design of flowers and tendrils worked in fine chain stitch.

The curtain has been made not to be drawn but just to draped at the side of a window and is therefore asymmetrical when not held back. It is scalloped to the right hand side and the bottom and is prettily ruched at the top.

The curtain is beautifully clean and is a gorgeous pale colour which is not quite blue or grey or violet. Not surprisingly, considering the delicacy of the textile and it's age, there are one or two minor holes and a scattering of  repairs (please see photos). The repairs have been painstakingly and lovingly done and just add character to these divine antique curtains.

The curtain measures :-
115 cm (3ft 9.25 inches) across the top.
175 cm (5 ft 9 inches) across the bottom.
217 cm (7 ft 1.5 inches) along the shortest edge.
258 cm (8 ft 5.5 inches) along the longest edge.

A divine frothy French Cornely lace curtain to add an authentic château chic finishing touch and another gorgeous antique French textile find from La Belle Étoffe.

N.B. The clips and tie back we have used to display the curtain are not included.
