This is a stunning vintage French tapestry wall hanging dating from the mid 1900's. It would add a fabulous château chic finishing touch to a room and make a great bed head.

It depicts a fabulous hunting scene with lots of action. It is set in a stunning lush landscape dominated by 3 huge trees. A superbly dressed lady and gentleman gallop their magnificent steeds after their dogs as they pursue their prey.

The colours are very atmospheric. Subtle greens & ochres dominate the palette with hints of pink, lilac & blue in the flowers & costumes.

The tapestry is made of wool and linen. It is of excellent quality and is woven in fine detail. The weave is textured which gives relief and definition to the subject matter. The tapestry is in good vintage condition.

It measures :- 135 cm (4 ft 5 inches) wide x 99 cm (3 ft 3 inches) high.
