B1010 - SOLD

This is a superb hand painted antique French metal sign. It is a 'No Hunting' order as decreed by the ministry of agriculture on 25th August 1934.

We see many similar, but modern versions of these signs as we drive around the countryside near our home here in the Charente Maritime. They are often at the edge of vineyards and privately owned woods.   

However, until we found this one, we had never seen an old hand painted one, which we consider to be a rare find. Years of weathering from the countryside elements  have probably seen off most others.

This sign is in excellent condition and must have been kept indoors for many years. It has a little antique patination as one would expect but there is no corrosion to the metal.

It has a hole in each corner for hanging on a wall. It would make a stunning addition to a vintage themed décor or collection.

It measures :- W 41 cm (16.25 inches) x H 33 cm (13 inches).
