Little birds, adornment of the earth,

Sweet messengers and smiles of heaven,
Send me your most joyful cries:
I want to sing my Mother
Whom I would like, by a divine mystery,
To have the lute of heaven's cherubim:
Between my fingers, an immortal canticle
Would vibrate for my Mother.
If only the angel would lend me my prayer,
What burning veils and cries of love,
To God, in the divine abode,
Would rise for my Mother!
